About · mission

Learn a cityby its kitchens.

A festival is how the public meets its neighbours. The organisation behind it is built to teach, and the field is where the teaching happens.

The purpose, in its formal wording.

To advance education by providing cross-cultural education to the public, and by educating the public about racial and ethnic discrimination and about positive relations among people of different ethnocultural origins.

What that means on the field.

  1. Every pavilion teaches

An interpreted exhibition in English and French, with a theme for the year.

  2. Workshops people can join

A cook, a maker, a language teacher: sessions a visitor takes part in.

  3. Articles written with communities

The Cultures section, sourced from the census and open to correction by the communities it describes.

  4. Both official languages

The site, the signs and the programme, in English and French.

The September weekend is set with the permits. The mailing list hears it the same day, before anybody else.

What you want to hear about (required) Canadian anti-spam law asks for consent per mailing type, so we ask per type. One click unsubscribes, any time.
